Come with us beyond the page and into the places where stories live. Chapters centres the literary cultures of Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia; regions where storytelling is woven through markets, kitchens, front porches and late-night conversations.
Each retreat unfolds around one carefully chosen book. We go deep rather than wide, exploring its landscape, themes and unanswered questions through shared meals, meaningful conversations, local experiences and quiet moments to read where the story is set.
And because every destination has a living literary scene, we also make time to meet, celebrate and support the emerging authors writing there today. The voices creating the region’s next chapter.

Each Chapter starts with a carefully chosen book and follows it into the country that shaped it. Through flavours, landscapes, history and conversation, we uncover the world around the story, leaving room for the unexpected moments no itinerary could ever write.

Founders of Chapters retreats
We are two women shaped by different countries, cultures and ways of telling stories, with a shared love of books and a habit of talking long after the final page. We created Chapters to travel with more curiosity and care: following stories into the places that shaped them, listening closely to the people who live there and inviting others to come with us.
