GHANA
Created for a small group of women, whether you come alone or with someone you know. You do not need to be a literary expert or an experienced traveller only curious about stories, culture and Ghana.
Sunday 28th of FEBRUARY – Saturday 6th of MARCH 2027
ACCRA, GHANA
Join us in Accra for six unforgettable nights of stories, culture, food and connection. Inspired by His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie, this intimate literary retreat invites you to experience Ghana beyond the pages, through the places, flavours and conversations that bring the story to life.
Together with a small group of women, you’ll explore the city, experience Ghanaian culture, enjoy meaningful book discussions and share thoughtfully curated experiences.
Every guest will have her own private en-suite room, offering a comfortable place to unwind throughout the week.

Akwaaba
Akwaaba means welcome, but in Ghana it rarely feels like just a word. It is the chair pulled closer, the extra helping added to your plate and the conversation that carries on long after you thought you were leaving.
From the creative pulse and beautiful chaos of Accra to coastlines lined with palms, green hills and towns where history sits close to the surface, Ghana moves through many rhythms. Markets spill over with colour and conversation, music rarely stays in the background and food is meant to be shared.
Come curious. Come hungry. Leave room for unexpected detours, a new favourite dish and the kind of stories that follow you home. Ghana has many layers, and the best way to meet them is slowly.

The story we're following.
His only wife by Peace Adzo Medie
Layered, thought-provoking and impossible not to discuss, His Only Wife explores love, marriage, family expectations, ambition and what it means for a woman to shape a life on her own terms. Fashion, class and contemporary Ghanaian life run through the story, giving us plenty to explore beyond the page.
Peace Adzo Medie is an award-winning Ghanaian writer and scholar whose work explores gender, power and women’s lived experiences with depth, intelligence and care. Through both her fiction and academic work, she creates space for nuanced conversations around identity, independence and the expectations placed on women. That richness makes His Only Wife a meaningful and inspiring starting point for our first Chapters journey through Ghana.
